Her writing has appeared in Harper's, Cosmopolitan, the Believer, Marie Claire, n+1, xoJane, California Sunday Magazine, Buzzfeed, and many other print and web publications. She created Mutha Magazine, an online publication about real-life parenting. Firstly, he was an outspoken advocate for feminism in the generally macho DC hardcore scene (later, he lent his muscle to the burgeoning Riot Grrrl scene, with which Tea was associated) second.
